As they said in "Hook", "That was a great adventure!"

The Friday reunion made me realize a few things. We never change, and we got a lot older! It's a contradiction in terms, but it made sense.

Friday started out slow as most people said "Who are all these old people?" Then, like Peter Pan, who grew old, you could look at a person and say "Oh, there you are!"

If you missed it, most everyone agrees that we should do this every 5 years from here on in (in to what? Detention?) . However, let me recap some of my highlights.
Seeing Claudia (Kopp) Horn. She's the best. Then there was Ruthie Bullock from Sarasota and Candy Westwater, who now calls Phoenix home (and hates the hot weather, go figure). Brian "I got's 11 kids" Scanlon was a BIG hit. The youngest is two, all with the same wife! God bless her! He sold his swimsuit business in Ft. Myers, but not, as he points out, the property. And here I thought he was just sleeping in Physics class. He was dreaming of how to get rich and sex, and he got both.
The doctors were present, as in Dr. Cameron and his wonderful and pretty wife. Leon Sykes was there too. I heard he was a great heart surgeon, which would be no suprise. And Dr Bill Bennet from Bay Vil-lodge don't you know. Oh yeah, that was him on the news recently for something or other.
Who was that guy in the PINK hat? None other than Jack Balboa from Maine. Sold his chicken farm and calls lobster something akin to roaches of the sea. Hey, butter kills anything, so give me lobster please.
Dave Beuller (how do you spell names? Who cares, I'm old, remember!) is bying all the Templers in the country. Good for him. Speaking of cars, Bob Floudine and his wife popped up. I was kidding by saying "You could tell who is here just by the makes of cars in the parking lot." Your typical bar kid today doesn't drive a Dodge Caravan, but the lot was loaded with them. And I half expected to see a 1963 Vette with "Floudine" on the plates.
Mickey hasn't changed a bit, nor has Dick Heil. Believe me, look at his high school picture and look at him today. No change. So there really are anti-aging pills out there. And I found Istvan Burgoyne, who looks like he just came back from Iraq, which he did. Some people never give up the fight. Skip Thomas, along with dozens of others, is retired and living the good life, and riding his Harley. A little one, 900 cc.
????? Moore doesn't glow, and he heard all the jokes. He works in the nuke plant in Perry. And is there a resemblence to Homer Simpson there?
Did I mention Claudia Horn? I think half the class is staying at her house in Bay Vill-lodge.
The band played on, at least for one set. John Bright, Paul Robinson and Declon Simon had it going with some old tunes. They sounded the same, only better. Obviosly their skills haven't diminished.
Billy Mould is a GRAMPA! First one arrived just this past Thursday.
And now for the rest of the show! Cheryl McDowell looks great, and did Debbie Verdova and the rest of the cheerleading sect. Reese? It came to me in my sleep. Her name. First name? Hmmm. And I found my first love, ............Hey. can't tell you everything, can I. But she looks great!
Tommy Weimer is doing great. Steve Hornyak still looks like a movie star. Steve Chechonsky has done well on the slopes. Maybe skiing is the anti-aging drug. His wife still looks the best. I think Steve got the best out of the class, a great career in the clean air of somewhere out west and a very pretty wife.
Tom Yencha was there and so was Jeff Shmmmuuuukkkkkkiiiiii. He's still nuts, but Jack Balboa has him beat. Howie Phillips looked good in his Ohio State hat. And hats were in. Apparently, the status symbol is if you still have your own hair. I brush mine with super glue every morning. And it's ok to have a tinge of grey.
By the end of the evening, it was the eyes that gave everyone away. As we talked and the night wore on, our aged bodies became a familiarity, and the person we didn't recognize at 7:00 was now the guy or girl we knew from 35 years ago. And the names started popping back into mind...Thaddeous Sulak, and Dan Slife (who's daughter was a bartender there), and Jeff Schmucki again.
I bet the dinner party will be a blast! I just hope they make the name tags bigger, lots bigger. So I can leave my eye glasses at home.
Lastly, who was the Judge? She hasn't changed a bit since her picture appeared in the papers years ago. I cannot ever rememberer name. But hey! I'm 53 so who cares!
